Mr. David P. Aguirre is the Proud “Taylor Tiger” Principal. His role as the Principal is to provide a welcoming, highly-effective, motivated, student driven, and caring educational environment at Zachary Taylor Elementary School. Mr. Aguirre prides himself in ensuring the Core Areas, Physical Education, and the Fine Arts component are delivered to every child every day. He also believes that developing the “whole child” is a must! He believes that his instructional staff understands the process of a well developed lesson plan and an effective delivery that must be intentional and differentiated to meet the needs of all students. His staff at Taylor are well versed in the Common Instructional Framework (Dr. Scott Hollinger) and Professional Learning Communities. If Mr. Aguirre was to pick one thing that he is passionate about - it would be developing the child through literacy. His ELA/Reading teachers’ instruction and lesson plans as well as class routines and templates reveal the Balanced Literacy Framework! Mr. Aguirre’s formula for SUCCESS is GREAT STUDENTS + GREAT TEACHERS + GREAT INSTRUCTION = GREAT SCORES/RESULTS!!! Mr. Aguirre holds a Master’s in Education Administration Degree from the University of Texas at Brownsville and a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University – Kingsville. Currently Mr. Aguirre is a proud Vaquero - pursuing a Superintendent Certificate through the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley!
